Visas and consular services

Consular fees

Consular fees

The consular fees in Romania are established by Law No.198/2008, as amended, in EUR, as fixed values.

For countries with other currencies, the fees are calculated each month based on the average of the currency exchange rate against EUR.

As in the U.S. the currency is U.S. Dollar (USD), the fees are (re)calculated each month, based on the EUR/USD exchange rate established by the European Central Bank.

The exchange rate for February 2017 is 1.0614 USD/1EUR.

So, the list of the fees for consular services, used for February 2017, can be found here:

Attention: Not all the possible situations are covered in the Table of fees, each situation being assessed individually. Depending on specific requirements for some complex services (like citizenship matters, registering of a change in civil status or name etc.) the fees can be different from the one presented. For such cases, ask for assistance from a consular agent, mainly by Email.
